« Harchurah apparaît généralement sous les traits d’un homme, mais il peut faire varier sa taille d’un brin d’herbe à un arbre gigantesque. Sa chevelure et sa barbe sont faites d’herbe vivante, et on le dépeint parfois avec une queue, des sabots ou des cornes. Harchurah a un lien fort avec le mythe du Loup Gris, le Bozkurt. La légende le décrit portant une écharpe rouge et sa chaussure gauche à son pied droit. On dit qu’il n’a pas d’ombre.

Harchurah protège les oiseaux et les autres animaux de la forêt. Il leur indique toujours le moment des migrations. Il est métamorphe et peut prendre de multiples apparences. En tant qu’humain, il a l’air d’un paysan aux yeux luisants.

Les Harchurahs sont des êtres terriblement malicieux : leurs cris sont horribles, et ils savent imiter les proches de leurs victimes afin de les appâter jusqu’à leurs grottes, où les Harchurahs les chatouillent jusqu’à la mort. Ils s’amusent également à retirer les panneaux sur les routes pour que les gens se perdent. Ils ne sont pas fondamentalement mauvais : même s’ils s’amusent en égarant des gens ou en kidnappant des jeunes filles, ils veillent souvent sur les troupeaux en pâture, et empêchent le bétail de s’engager dans des forêts et d’aller s’y perdre.

Parfois, plus d’un Harchurah habite dans une même forêt, et ils se battent alors pour ce territoire, abattant ainsi des arbres et terrorisant les animaux. »

« Harchurah usually appears as a man, but he is able to change his size from that of a blade of grass to a very tall tree. He has hair and a beard made from living grass, and is sometimes depicted with a tail, hooves, and horns. Harchurah has a close bond with the grey wolf myth, the Bozkurt. Legend describes him as having a red scarf and his left shoe on his right foot. He also had no shadow.

Harchurah protects the animals and birds in the forest and tells them when to migrate. He can shapeshift into many different forms. As a human, he looks like a peasant with glowing eyes.

Harchurahs are terribly mischievous beings: they have horrible cries, and can imitate voices of people familiar to wanderers and lure them back to their caves, where the Harchurah will tickle them to death; they also remove signs from their posts. They aren't evil: although they enjoy misguiding humans and kidnapping young women, they are also known to keep grazing cattle from wandering too far into the forests and getting lost.

Sometimes more than one Harchurah inhabits a forest, and then they will fight for their territory, knocking down trees and scaring animals. »
